Conservatories and Orangeries in Guildford area

At Sussex Conservatories we provide impartial advice and access to a number of recommended conservatory and orangery suppliers in the Guildford and surrounding area of Surrey. (Including West Sussex, East Sussex and West Kent)

Conservatories
A conservatory is considered a good cost effective way to add light and space to your home.  Because most domestic conservatories are exempt from Building Regulations and Planning permissions they can be bought and installed with the minimum of fuss

For customers in the Guildford area we have been involved with designing and manufacturing high quality conservatories for over 25 years.  Whether you are looking for a conservatory that is contemporary or traditional, complex or with clean lines we can advise and provide.

In days gone by most conservatory designs were based around such conservatory designs as the Victorian conservatory, Georgian conservatory, Lean to / Mediterranean conservatory, P-shape conservatory, T-shape conservatory,  Lantern conservatory, Gable conservatory, Solid Roof Conservatories or Large span/portal conservatory.  Nowadays, rather than you having to choose from a shape being offered, we can help you design and provide a shape that suits you

Orangeries
An orangery offers a  different take on traditional conservatories.  The orangery is based on a traditional atrium-style conservatory with non glass walls but with a modern technology glass roof.  With an orangery your adjoining rooms flood with light and there’s a feeling of space that comes from the interior height of the orangery. Like conservatories, orangeries come in variety of different designs.  They fall between a conservatory and traditional extension styles.  With their pillars, orangeries offer more privacy than conservatory styles and the interior height provides a breathtaking focal point through which light floods in. Your orangery often offers a seamless link between home and garden

One of the biggest mistakes people make when they have a new conservatory or orangery is not considering the practical elements of how the space will flow next to your existing property.   You don’t necessarily need to go to the expense of consulting an architect to design your space as we can help you design your space and show you drawings of what the space will look like

Always bear in mind that the space you will gain indoors will take away from the space you have in your garden.  So be sure about the positioning of your extension – does it need to flow off existing exits?  Does this give you the best perspective of your garden?  Until the footings are ready to be dug out, take all the time you need to consider the best position of your extension to make the most of natural daylight

We will be able to guide you in the Guildford area through certain restrictions.  For example, if you have a drain cover near your property there will be restrictions around building over it. We normally have detailed local knowledge about what’s possible, and what’s not, depending on where you live in the UK

The Regulations
Often people are put off by the red tape associated by home extensions.  The simple way to consider it is Planning Permission deals with what you can build and where you build it and Building Regulations deal with the how you build it.  There are some general rules, which apply to most properties in the UK, and there will be specific factors to consider for your own property – such as whether your house is previously extended or if you live in a conservation area, or a listed property
You wil be easily guided through this process and how submit relevant applications if required
